Former Team GB athlete visits Laxfield

On Thursday 20th October, we were delighted to welcome former Team GB athlete, Pierre Henry Fontaine to our school. Pierre started off by with an assembly where he talked about his career, challenges he faced, specific highlights and how he prepared for his career in terms of his schooling, diet, training and lifestyle. He also shared what he has been able to use his skill set for and how he has continued to be involved in sport since his retirement. After this, he put all children through their paces with a range of exercises and activities, many found this tough, but with his and Mrs. Robinson's encouragement, they were able to persevere.

Thank you to all of those who were sponsored for this event. We ended up making a huge total of £964, with some of this money going back into the school to help fund future sporting events and help with updating our equipment.
