Horstead- Day 3
As the sun rose on our last day of the residential trip, a bittersweet feeling settled over us. The past few days had been filled with adventure, learning, and fun, and it was time to bid farewell to the wonderful experiences we had shared at the Horstead. Our final day was packed with exciting activities, heartfelt goodbyes, and the promise of treasured memories to last a lifetime.
We reluctantly crawled out of our cozy sleeping bags and started packing up our belongings. After a delicious breakfast, we were off on our final activity. Some of us finished with archery, where we learned to draw bows and take aim at targets with the precision of skilled marksmen. It was a challenge that required focus, control, and a steady hand, and the exhilaration of hitting the bullseye was unmatched. Others took on the challenge of crate stacking, a team-building challenge that pushed our physical and mental limits. We stacked crates on top of one another, each layer becoming more unstable than the last. The goal was to see how high we could build the tower while staying balanced and secure. It was an incredible test of trust and cooperation, and we all felt a sense of accomplishment as we reached impressive heights.
After our final activity, it was time to say goodbye to the incredible staff at Horstead. Their kindness and expertise had made our experience unforgettable.
As we boarded the bus, a mix of emotions enveloped us. We were sad to leave the beautiful surroundings of the Horstead, but we were also eager to reunite with our families and share stories of our adventures. The bus ride back to school was filled with laughter, chatter, and a sense of camaraderie that had grown stronger with each passing day.
Thank you to all the teachers, staff, and pupils who made this residential trip a cherished memory.
