Happy Easter to our amazing children and their families from the staff at All Saints Laxfield. We miss you all so much but we are incredibly proud of how you are dealing with the school being closed. If you would like to send us pictures of the brilliant things you have been doing, we would love to see them.

Exciting news Barnowls - the first two of our butterflies have emerged from their cocoons. I'm afraid I really don't know their names, but if any of you do, ask a parent to email the answer to the website.

If you took your caterpillar diary home with you, you can now update it.

( Sorry the picture isn't that great- I had to photograph through the netting, but I didn't want to take the lid off for obvious reasons).

I would like to start by thanking pupils for their contribution to a worthy cause as we raised £361 for Sports Relief this year. Pupils from every class in the school took part in an obstacle course to crown a class winner. Pupils supported their classmates throughout the event and showed great determination and sportsmanship.

After school, we were joined by parents, carers and siblings as many took to the field to complete a mile. This was excellently supported and I would...

The world of make believe was brought to life when students and staff dressed as their favourite fictional characters to celebrate World Book Day. Hagrid, Mr. Fox, Where's Wally and The Mad Hatter were among the splendid characters that were seen at Laxfield throughout an exciting day for all.

Throughout the day, classes celebrated this event in a number of different ways and parents and carers joined the celebrations at the end of the day for a chance to buy some books and for a slic...

On 27th November, children in Year 1 and 2 took part in a trees workshop as part of National Tree Week. In the morning, we gathered in the hall to find out about the life cycle of trees and how important they are to our environment. Through role play, we learnt lots of new facts about trees, animals and changes across the seasons. Later in the morning, we took part in a drawing workshop.

In the afternoon, the Year 2s went to the Erasmus Foundation in Laxfield, where we planted three...

We were awoken at half past 7 today and quickly got up and changed ready for our activities. Before we started, we had a little bit of free time so we played wink murder, Chinese whispers and had a 'moo' off. After this, we made our sandwiches ready for lunch time and then enjoyed our breakfast. Then we set off on our activities, some of us enjoyed rock climbing; others enjoyed canoeing, environmental art or archery. Afterwards, we got some time in the shop before we had our BBQ. Unf...

Firstly, we all got on the bus. When we got to Horstaed, we all had a tour of the house and where we would be sleeping. We then chose our beds and unpacked our suitcases. After that we had our lunch in the big dining room. Then came the activities, Mr. Millican's group had a go at archery with many showing that they could be future Olympians! Mrs Minns' group went canoeing along the river, whilst Mrs Mills' group were rock climbing and zip wiring. Afterwards, we got to have some free...

On Thursday 3rd of October, Kingfishers went to Redgrave and Lopham fen. We started off by walking down to the river. On the way down we were trying to spot different aspects of the environment including trees, plants and birds. When we got to the river we had to take some measurements, we looked at the sides of the bank and their steepness, how quick the water was flowing, the temperature of the water and the height and depth of the water. We did this at 3 separate points to see how...

On 24th September, Robins class travelled back in time to 1899 on their visit to Great Cressingham Victorian School. We dressed up as Victorian school children and spent the day in the classroom participating in lessons including reading, writing and arithmetic. We wrote on slate boards and even got to use ink pens! At break time, we went outside and played with Victorian toys including wooden and metal hoops and skipping ropes, spinning tops, skittles and quoits. We looked around th...

On Wednesday we opened the school doors for an all day session of The Club.  The children who attended had a fantastic day of fitness, first aid and fun. After a morning learning about and using muscles, they learnt how to call an ambulance, how to put someone in the recovery position and even used a defibrillator.

Afternoon snack was either cucumber or beans from the school garden which the children picked themselves. They also harvested the garlic that had been planted earlier...
