The School Day

The school day officially starts at 8:45am and finishes at 3:15pm.  The school opens its doors at 8.35am to allow parents and carers to drop off their children in time for a prompt start to the day. Registration is at 8:45am. (Total hours provided per week: 32hours 30mins)

Lessons begin after registration. Details of the curriculum can be found in the individual subject pages, located under 'The Curriculum' in the ‘School Information’ menu.

Morning Playtime

The children have a 15 minute break outside, where they will also have their snack. EYFS and KS1 pupils are given a piece of fruit (from the Government’s Free Fruit Scheme). Pupils in KS2 can bring a healthy snack to school from home. We have a 'no nuts' policy as some children do have nut allegies.

Lunch

Lunchtime is 1 hour for all pupils. The children can have a school dinner provided by Aspens (please see our school meals page for details) or bring a packed lunch from home. We have a 'no nuts' policy, which includes nut sandwich spreads, such as Nutella, as some children do have nut allegies. Lunch playtime is supervised by the Mid-day Supervisors.

End of the Day and Collection

At the end of the school day, parents/carers are expected to collect their child promptly from school. It is our policy to ensure we ‘hand’ your child to you so we know they are safe. If normal arrangements have to be altered (e.g. you are delayed or another person is collecting your child), please write in your child's school diary or let the school office know. This avoids any confusion or upset. All pupils (regardless of age) must be collected by an adult at the end of an after school club. This is to ensure they arrive home safely.

Getting to and from School

To get to and from school, if you are able to, then walking or cycling is definitely the best option. There are lots of benefits: it’s healthier than travelling by car, it improves the safety of pedestrians and road-users, and it respects nearby residents and parking regulations. We do have a bike and scooter rack for those who wish to bring their bike or scooter to school. All bikes/scooters must be locked for security (parents must provide a suitable bike lock).

If you do need to travel by car, please do not park on the yellow zig-zag lines outside the school gate. The law says no parking here between 8am-4:30pm (see yellow sign on front fence). Ideally park away from the school and please respect any neighbours drive way access.

Parking on the school site is for the pre-school staff, and visitors. The staff car park is located opposite the school and is strictly for the sole use of All Saints Laxfield Primary School staff. The staff car park is locked.
