Fabulous Festivals

Kingfishers and Barn Owls enjoyed a trip to Norwich cathedral today as part of their learning about advent. The morning consisted of two activities: a 'Journey to Bethlehem' which involved walking around the cathedral, meeting Mary, Joseph and an innkeeper; and a classroom based craft activity.

The 'Journey to Bethlehem' was excellent and it was lovely to see the children so involved in the story. Some of them were given roles to play and made excellent Magi, shepherds and even the prophet Isaiah. There was just time in the afternoon for a tour of the cathedral, looking at some of the art work commemorating the life of Edith Cavell, all the while listening to some beautifully sung carols from the local high school.
