Tree Planting!

On 27th November, children in Year 1 and 2 took part in a trees workshop as part of National Tree Week. In the morning, we gathered in the hall to find out about the life cycle of trees and how important they are to our environment. Through role play, we learnt lots of new facts about trees, animals and changes across the seasons. Later in the morning, we took part in a drawing workshop.

In the afternoon, the Year 2s went to the Erasmus Foundation in Laxfield, where we planted three beech trees. All the digging was hard work but we had great fun and were glad to do our bit to help the environment. We saw some trees planted by children at our school from six years ago which we compared to our new trees. We were very excited to think that ours will look like that in six years time!
