Physical Education
At All Saints, we believe Physical Education is a vital part of every child's development. We aim to instil a love for being active and a passion for physical fitness that will last a lifetime. From the earliest years in Reception through to the end of Key Stage 2, our pupils are encouraged to engage in a wide range of physical activities that promote physical, social and emotional well-being.
In EYFS and Key Stage 1, pupils develop core movement skills such as running, jumping, balancing and coordination through fun and engaging lessons, outdoor play and exploration. As they progress into Key Stage 2, pupils build on these foundations with a focus on teamwork, strategy and a wider variety of sports, including swimming, gymnastics, athletics and competitive games.
Our PE curriculum is carefully planned to ensure progression in knowledge and skills. Pupils enjoy regular opportunities to be active every day and benefit from excellent facilities and community partnerships with local schools and sports clubs. We also offer chances to compete by taking part in The Omnibus Games, which provides opportunities for play in tournaments and events, fostering core values such as resilience, perseverance and teamwork.
At All Saints, PE is not just about physical activity. It's about building confidence, encouraging healthy lifestyles and helping every child flourish both in and out of the classroom.
We have been awarded the School Games Silver Mark for our participation and commitment in sport and PE.
