Languages

At All Saints, we believe that learning a modern foreign language opens doors to new cultures, ideas, and friendships. Our French curriculum, delivered through the engaging Language Angels program, aims to inspire curiosity and build strong foundations in language skills from an early age. Through interactive lessons, children develop listening, speaking, reading, and writing abilities, gaining not only linguistic competence but also a genuine love for learning French.  Our hope is that by the time children leave primary school, they have a solid grasp of French and the confidence to build on this at secondary school, setting them up for lifelong language learning and global citizenship.

We are proud of the vibrant experiences we provide to bring language learning to life. We regularly celebrate European Languages Day, where children learn about a range of European languages and cultures and enjoy multiple activities such as our popular French Café. These events help deepen their appreciation of not just the French language but also the wider European and global community.

Beyond French, our curriculum promotes understanding and respect for a range of languages and cultures, helping children develop open-mindedness and empathy.   In embracing modern foreign languages, we are preparing our pupils to be confident in an increasingly connected world, nurturing skills and attitudes that will serve them well throughout their lives.
