On Wednesday we opened the school doors for an all day session of The Club.  The children who attended had a fantastic day of fitness, first aid and fun. After a morning learning about and using muscles, they learnt how to call an ambulance, how to put someone in the recovery position and even used a defibrillator.

Afternoon snack was either cucumber or beans from the school garden which the children picked themselves. They also harvested the garlic that had been planted earlier...

P.E in our school was celebrated this week in our annual Sports Day. The children warmed up with stretching followed by a lolly stick hunt around the school grounds. Running, egg and spoon and sack races were enthusiastically cheered on by the many parents who had come to watch. The house team relay race was hotly contested as were the parents' bean bag on the head races!

The whole afternoon was a great success with children encouraging each other, working together as a team and demo...

This week the whole school came together to celebrate the arts within a theme of MUSICALS. After weeks of making their houses from the era of the Great Fire of London, children from Kingfishers class finally saw them go up in flames. The children watched enthusiastically as the wind spread the fire along the houses from number 1, to number 26.

Today the whole school spent time focussing on the important issue of how to keep safe whilst using the Internet. Mr Millican led an assembly on the subject and then the children completed a variety of activities in their classes.

You can see much of their work around the school and in the classrooms.

We would encourage parents to talk to their children about what they have learnt. If you are unsure where to start, the NSPCC has some good ideas here

Today we celebrated World Book Day. The pupils looked absolutely amazing coming dressed up as their favourite characters from a wide range of books. We were incredibly lucky to be joined by an author and the children were very keen to enquire about life as an author and what it entailed. We also had our very first 'book swap' where lots of children brought in a book from home and swapped it for another child's book. They were very excited about their 'new' books and there was a real...

Today we were privileged to host the amazing children of the Watoto choir. The children are all from Uganda and have lost either one or both of their parents. Their message is of the love of God for all which they demonstrate through their incredible singing and dancing.

It was truly wonderful to see our children playing games, skipping and sharing with the children of the choir. After break we were treated to a memorable performance which had both children and staff spellbound....

On Wednesday 16th January 2019, we joined together as a school to look at the importance of leading a healthy and balanced lifestyle. The children spent the day in their house groups and went around the school looking at a range of activities. The children pushed themselves to the limit during circuits and dance, they tried foods they'd never had before whilst making fruit kebabs and created healthy songs to help them remember some of the lovely fruits. The children thoroughly enjoye...

All Saints Laxfield were very pleased to welcome firefighters from Eye into the school. The children loved looking around the fire engine, finding out about the tools and even shooting some targets with the hose! We would like to pass our thanks on to the firefighters once more for their time, all the children found it thoroughly educational and a lot of fun.
